Karachi February 8th:- Governor Sindh Mr. Mohammad Zubair has said that Karachi is returning to its past glory due to strenuous efforts of law enforcement agencies and Karachiites are enjoying life like the inhabitants of any other normal city.
This he said while addressing at a reception organized in honour of participants of Karachi Literature Festival (KLF) here at Governor House. Governor Sindh said that social, cultural, sports, economic and other activities are gaining momentum with every passing day. The participation of foreign delegates in such activities is very positive sign of increasing trust of specially western world towards improving law & order situation of Karachi, he added
Governor Sindh said that Pakistan is far better as compared to 2013, when it was faced with the enormous challenges of law & order and energy crisis. Law & order has improved significantly while we would have surplus electricity during this year, he opined.
Governor Sindh said that international events are being held regularly now in Karachi. International Media Conference was held in last month, and we plan to hold an International Film Festival and an Squash tournament in coming months, he added.
He said that the perception of unfavourable conditions is totally opposite to reality but it would take time to clear. We all must accept the challenge of propagating reality about Pakistan as and when possible, he added.
Governor Sindh thanked foreign participants of KLF and hoped that their stay would be pleasant and they would be convinced enough to convey the reality to their Governments and countrymen.
He said that KLF has become one of the prime events of Karachi. It has gained prominence in events calendar of Karachi by its uniqueness, he added
He lauded that efforts of Ms. Amenah Syyid and Oxford University Press for regularly holding this literary event and said that it is promoting reading habit specially amongst the youth.
